Daniel Steinberg, through his friendship, support, and speaking, has been a foundational part of the inception and success of CocoaConf for the past 5 years.
It is with much sadness that we learned that Daniel’s dear wife, Kimberli Diemert, passed away on August 23, following a car accident.
We all sense the tremendous loss he and their daughter Maggie have experienced, and we express our deepest sympathy to them, their family and friends.
Daniel will be absent from the DC event, taking some needed time away from the conference scene, but he and his loved ones will not be far from our thoughts and prayers.
We are thankful that some talented and experienced presenters have offered to step in and help fill the gap. The Swift tutorial will be given by Jonathan Lehr, founder of About Objects and an experienced iOS trainer. Ken Auer, founder of RoleModel Software and a long-time member of the software development community, will deliver the Friday night keynote. Chris Adamson, author, engineer, and veteran CocoaConf speaker, will be filling in for Daniel's lunchtime activity with a Reverse Q&A panel.
Again, our deepest sympathies go out to Daniel and Maggie and their family and friends. Donations in the memory of Kimberli Diemert can be made to SmileTrain.org.
