Recent versions of OS X have been full of enhancements that have re-shaped the security landscape for developers. Doing privileged work has become more complex over time, to the user’s benefit and possibly to our disadvantage. We’ll look at the roles that the App Sandbox, XPC, and launchd all play in our ability to accomplish tasks that require superuser privileges on a modern Mac.
