As the “Father of Perfect,” and in his role as PerfectlySoft’s CTO, Kyle Jessup is responsible for overseeing and spearheading the continuing evolution of this server-side Swift development toolset and platform. He is well-known in technology circles as the lead developer for the server-side portion of Lasso, another backend development platform once owned by Apple through its former subsidiary, Claris.
A self-taught programmer with an insatiable curiosity about how various technologies work, he has extensive knowledge of several programming languages including Swift, Lasso, Java, and C++.
Kyle’s interest in technology began at a young age when his father – a former nuclear engineer who served aboard a US Navy submarine – bought him an Atari 800 personal computer. He’s since spent more than 20 years writing software and developing mobile applications.
Born in Dallas, Texas, he studied art at the University of North Texas before moving to Scotts Valley, California in the mid-1990s to study information technology (IT) part-time at Bethany College. Before long, he was running the school’s computer network and was subsequently hired to run its IT department. Kyle relocated to Canada in 2015 to join the PerfectlySoft team.
