Joshua Nozzi is a combination full-time and indie Mac developer. He contracts for the Vaccine Research Center of the National Institutes of Health and owns Bartas Technologies, a 10-year-old shareware company. Josh wrote Mastering Xcode 4 and is working on the second edition for Xcode 4.5. He enjoys teaching others and answering questions on StackOverflow. He's been a guest on iDeveloper Live and has spoken at several events. He serves his feline and canine masters, working from his home in Southern Virginia.

What happens when you press the play button? Where can you assert your own control? How can you extend the system? Xcode does a lot of complicated things behind the scenes but that doesn't mean you can't understand or even control it.
In this session, you'll start with basic terminology then launch headlong into exploring and customizing the build process with settings, phases, scripts, and rules. You'll learn where you can fine-tune, adjust, and even derail Xcode. From preprocessing to distribution, you'll follow your code through Xcode's machinery and meet your app on the other side.
